Enjoying the Beach!

A beautiful day for the last day of September so we had some exercise on the beach at Bridlington north side. The sun shone, the sky was blue and almost cloudless but a cooling blow remained - could it really be October tomorrow? One good thing is that the beaches open up fully to dogs as from October 1st so more scope for good walks. The following images are of Symphony being Symphony and a couple of Heather giving a good impression of a teenager!

From Bridlington Harbour this morning

Gansey Girl

A couple of walks around Bridlington Harbour with Symphony this morning, provided a real difference in natural lighting, that begged to be photographed! It is due to be a lovely day despite a challenging blow!

Gansey Girl, Bridlington Harbour at Sunrise

It's Saturday market at Bridlington today and prior to setting up our greetings card stall, I took Symphony a walk around the harbour. The sun was just appearing above the horizon so we dashed around to the Gansey Girl, where I managed to capture it with the Gansey Girl in silhouette. A gansey is a pullover used by fishermen and unique to the port they fish from. This unique design also served to identify fishermen who gave up their lives to the sea. The Gansey Girl at Bridlington is the excellent work of sculptor Steve Carvill and has to be one of the best landmarks in East Yorkshire.

Simply North Side, Bridlington

"Dramatic!"

Having set Heather up on Bridlington Market (card stall), I returned home to pick up Abigail and Symphony for a walk along the beach at north side. It was a mixture of bright intervals, gloom and a challenging breeze. Symphony was full of spirit, chasing her ball, but insisted on dropping it in the beach pools and refusing to retrieve it, leaving it for yours truly to paddle in and get it!

I don't think there will be many takers today!

A pleasant walk through Sewerby Hall Grounds this morning, early morning mist, sunshine, blue skies and warmth! Just in case the heading is not understood, it's one of my "bitza this and "bitza" that posts!

Who's a lucky girl? It is rather painful when she bashes it against your shins!
